I don't think there is anything worse than having a fresh engine, and winding up with stupid oil leaks through spark plug holes...
Here is the story. I bought the car from a local classic car dealership in Houston, and the engine was rebuilt by a shop called AERO CAR CARE in houston. It was 300+ miles on the engine when I purchased the car. I drove the car several times, howver, I noticed oil drops from the engine, and oil was leaking from the piston ring through the spark plug hole.
That was when the nightmare started.
I had to take the car to a mechanic where I live, and obviously the engine had to be taken apart to find out the source of oil leaks..
guess what guys, some piston rings were missing, and there was an axial displacement of the crank shaft that damaged the seals..
The car was built as a 383 stroker with fresh heads, crank shaft, connecting rods,etc..
But when the engine was put togther by some idiots who don't know crap about assembling the engine, that fresh engine means nothing..
Now I have to get everything taken care because of AERO CAR CARE...which I think they have zero experience when it comes to rebuilding engines...
