What are you guys running for a PCV valve on a standard valve cover grommet? I want to replace a crappy PCV set-up on one of my cars.

I always use the PCV spec'ed for a 1991 Camaro with the 3.1L V6 engine. They have less of a tendency to "flutter" at idle, but are otherwise totally interchangable on V8 applications.

Don't ask me why. I just know they work. They're what I always use.

I agree with Damon. That's the one I use.

Ask for one for a '99-up Silverado/Tahoe with 5.3 Vortec, and ask for the NEW style. They have NO plunger or spring. Just hollow with a 1/8" hole in the bottom. It's what GM came up with to deal with oil consumption issues on the new Vortec engines. They work great in our older high performance machines.
