Will this fit under my stock 80's hood? I have a edelbrock carb (1406)and a 14" drop base aircleaner with std 3" filter.

1.Will it fit?
2.Would I need a 2" filter instead?
3.Do I need the edelbrock fuel line so I dont need air cleaner spacer(hits rubber fuel line with out spacer)
4.dont z28 mounts make teh engine sit lower?
I have stock lg4 (305) engine and mounts in.
5.If above is true would I need z28 mounts?
If so what year?

Yes and No, maybe. On my 73 non vortec, q-jet
the rpm manifold fits with stock style drop base and big filter. I know some say it won't fit. I don't think it's much higher than a stock z28 manifold (07-72)

You have to get a flat bottomed air cleaner. You can't use the drop base on an Edelbrock carb because of the banjo fitting. However, I think there may be an adapter to allow you to run a drop-base cleaner.

Yes you can get the special swivel 90 degree fitting so you can use a drop base air cleaner, which you WILL need. Also with the Vortec intake about the thickest air cleaner you can run is about 2-3/4....maybe only 2-1/2. I suggest highly using the X-Stream K&N lid to help make up the difference!!

I use the same exact carb with a drop base air cleaner...but also need to have a 2" phenolic riser on the carb to have the cleaner fit over the banjo fitting...esentially I'd be better off if I didn't have the drop base cleaner but it came with the car..

I have a 600 holley on an rpm air gap manifold with a 2 inch scoop on my 76 and I had to use a 2 inch air filter

I'm having a space problem between my Edelbrock Triangular Air Cleaner and my Hood. I have the Performer Intake with Edelbrock 1406. My Electric Choke isn't hooked up. Which Drop Base Air Cleaner can I use to clear my hood instead of using the Elite Cleaner? My Hood is propped up and want to fix it asap.

BTW, the Air Filter in my Elite is 2-3/4.
