HI ALL i need help decoding an old block i pulled out of a 70 montecarlo about 20 years ago (i think?) been awhile this block is in my shed since then..... 1 thing i rember after i pulled it was wow it had 2.02 /1.60 fullie heads so i didnt know if it was monte orrignal/////its a 350 4 bolt this all i know ..im thinking if the block checks good ill build it into a pretty stout 383 with a bit of spray......here is the block#3970010 and the deck # is V04100RE OR ........ V0410CRE HARD TO READthanks for your help Bob.B

okay V0410CRE decodes as this :

V- flint michigan

04 - month of april

10 - 10th day of that month

CRE - 1970 350sbc 300hp 4bolt main / transmission was a turbo350


3970010 decodes as :

1969-1980 350sbc with hp levels ranging from 255-350 and a 4bolt main

cars and trucks used this block
