Summit is a good place to deal with. I'm in GA. and always get my orders in 2 days if I place the order before 6 pm. If flaced after 6 pm it takes 3 days

rustyole79... You'll like that cam. I been running the crane cam close to that for a few years in 2 diff engines. A 327 and a 350. Good all around cam.

The crane that I have specs as 272/284* 216/228 @ .050", .454"/.480" lift, 112 LSA

Rustyole79...You'll have to post once you've installed the new cam, to let us know how the engine responds. I've been trying to find the right cam for my '77 Z28, and I've been thinking about the one you've chosen. I heard the 350 really likes a little more lift on the exhaust valve than the intake. Daul pattern I believe it's called.

Adam G... It's not the engine that likes more on the exhaust side. It's the heads. The port flow intake and exhaust % aint that good on GM heads, so the dual patt. cams with more duration and lift on the exhaust side helps it out.

You get great flowing heads like AFRs, brodixs, canfeilds, etc Then most of the times you loose power with a dual patt. cam. Those type heads likes a little bigger straight cut cam.

And yes the cam Rusty has works great in most street driven 327-360 cid engines. It's a tad on the big side for a well built 327, and a tad on the small side for a well built 360, but anything between those and it just plane rocks!!

Mine has power everywhere from idel to 6200 rpm easy. I do have 1.6 rockers, which makes the cam think it's alittle bigger. That may be why mine pulls at 6200.

Same exact cam my buddy has in his '69 pickup with a 307. Runs fine and sounds good.

Thanks for the clarification Night Rider, and the additional information. Here's a question maybe you can help me with. Instead of installing a new cam, how substantial do you feel the gains are, from just adding 1.6 rockers, as apposed to the factory 1.5's. Also, with the added lift, would this effect the idle, or maybe not, as I guess there wouldn't be anymore duration added.

Thanks.

Adam G... The rocker swap is a good mod, but it's not going get you anywhere close to the HP/TQ gains and real cam swap will.

Going from 1.5 to 1.6 rockers will keep the cam's avd. duration the same, but increase the duration @ .050" lift by 1-4* based on the ramp speed of the the cam.

The swap will also add .028-.032" of total valve lift.

As you can see, you'll have higher lift, but still pretty tame duration.

IMHO a cam swap will be the best bet.

I used the 1.6 rockers for 2 reasons. 1) I needed alittle bigger cam, but couldnt get the size I needed with a 112 LSA unless I got a custom grind. 2) I already had the 1.6's laying around

The SSI (came in my PAW rebuild kit) grind I have is close, 280/290 214/224@.050 with 443 / .465 lift. Sounds nice in my 355, I'm running 882 heads, a BG carb and 9:1 compression.
