I purchased a replacement fuel pump to carb line and (just my luck) I ordered the wrong one. It was short about 2 inches. So I cut it and installed a section of rubber fuel line. See here:

Will the rubber section being close to the lower radiator hose a problem?

Thanks in advance!

No prob at all with the rubber fuel line.

Most non stock engines uses darn near all rubber. That really aint safe, but it works

NHRA says you can have a total of 12" of rubber and still be race legal. So as tough as they are on rules and keepinf driver safe, I would have to think short lenghts of rubber is safe to use.

I went with alum. hardline on mine, but did'nt flare the ends, just used a 1-2" lenght of rubber on all my 6 connetcion points

yeah that will be fine. i did the same thing with my engine swap i did with a truck and my camaro. if anything it might isolate some of the vibration from the fuel pump so the line won't get loose on the carb fitting.
one thing you could do if you have a flare kit for tubing is put a flare on each end where the rubber line connects that way it is almost a leak proof seal. but without it you should be good. just make sure the clamp stays tight.

No worries!! That will A ok I have almost 2 feet of rubber going from the pump to my carb. Looks like you have Top of the line fuel hose too.

I did that for years with no problem, but I did use two worm clamps on each end. Probably not necessary, but worm clamps are cheap, engine fires are expensive.

Isn't it required to run rubber fuel line from the hard line to the motor in the first place?

That picture is from the pump to the carb. It only has to hold about 6-8 PSI before the pump goes to bypass. Yes, you are correct about their being a piece of rubber hose in the factory configuration from the aluminum line (from the tank) to the fuel pump.
