Can anyone help with an Egr question? I have a sensor that is beat up over the years and I am trying to find a replacement as trying to keep the vehicle all stock and orig as possible. The sensor is the one in the top of the waterneck. One port attaches to the Egr valve and one attaches to the carb itself. Napa, Checker, nor Autozone can find a part number or listing for this part. Does anyone know of a source for this part or a specific name?
Thanks for any help.

The similar part I had on my '86 Monte Carlo SS was called a ported vacuum switch. If your car is a '74, as I am assuming by your screen name, I also have a '74 Z-28, but it didn't come with such a switch.

Check this from Napa's site:

Huh, all the manuals I've seen call it a thermal vacuum switch. Basically, it prevents any vacuum from reaching the EGR valve untill the engine is warmed up some.
That NAPA part seems like it should be the right one though. Another place for little fiddly bits like that is the junkyard. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

I agree, the NAPA part listed seems about right. Just there to keep from having the EGR valve operate until the engine has some heat in it. Open EGR valves and cold engines don't play nice together (part throttle surging, stumbling, etc.)

Thanks for the replies. I will check out that part at Napa. My Car was an original 2 barrel and now has a 4 barrel set up from a '75 camaro. That must be part of the reason I couldn't find a part listing at napa for a '74. I appreciate all the help.
