What would be the best valves to run on a set of 601 casting heads on a 305 with a 262XE comp cam? Would 1.94 1.50 valves be too big? Thanks

Most people upgrade to the 1.94 package with those heads. They are the biggest that will clear a 305 cylinder.

I always figured a 1.84"/1.60" valve combination would be better in the small chambered heads..

Less shrouding of the intake b/c it is stock and less pumping losses with a bigger exhaust valve..
