I've got the 2.5 inch header back Summit kit with mufflers. Supposedly a bolt on.

The right tailpipe will only go back about as far as the rear shackle before the front of the pipe hits the axle.

The left tailpipe will only go back to about three inches in front of the rear shackle before it hits the brake like tee and braided steel brake line that goes into the tee(this is rubber coated).

The instructions show that the pipes should exit out under the back bumper, and I'm not even close to that.

So how do I get the tailpipes to go where they should, and/or what am I doing wrong? If you have pics or could get some, I'd apprecitate it.

I HATE EXHAUST WORK

The summit kit from what I hear is not a true 'bolt one' it does require trimming. If you look at its application chart, it supposedly fits lots of cars..

How about just adding some chrome (or not) tips to extend it ??
just a suggestion

The problem is at that point, the tailpipes are pointing down, not straight out.

tailpipes on that exhaust exit next to the quarterpannel befor the shackels pointing down not out the back.and it will hit on the t on the brake line without using the z28 or transam adapter that moves the mount 2 inches to the side, standard camaros bolt directly to the rear.

I bent the brake line bracket down a little bit for clearance, I think it'll be fine.

I'm about halfway there on this project, I hate exhaust work with a passion anyway, so I have a hard time sticking with it.

I'll get this to fit, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't looking backwards at something before I started cutting pipe.

I have the summit 2.5 mandrel bent kit as well. Mine fit great but the tips are above the lower edge of the 1/4 halfway between the tire and shackle, I dont add tips because it looks like they may hit the 1/4 or spring during suspension travel.
