i blew my starter so i put a new starter in...the car seemed to start fine before i had to tear apart the motor. i blew the cam so i had to tear the whole top end down and do a cam and lifters. now after its back together i went to start it to break in the cam and the car takes a while to shut off...i turned it over and went to turn it off, took out the key and got out of the car and it still ran for like 30 seconds...any ideas im stumped..
thanks

your ignition wire may be getting juice from the alternator, try unplugging the alternator start it and see if it shuts right off.

does the engine actually run as if you didn't even take the key out or does it deisel? if it deisels don't let it do it much becasue it can break a crank shaft right in half.

i had msd but i disconnected it and went back to regular ignition. its not dieseling because the car never runs it just turns over because the distributor isnt in...i want to make sure all the valves are opening by clicking the motor over slowly...but the car just tries to turn over all the way even when i take the key out
