View Full Version : Crate Motor
Little Naples 07-04-2005, 01:26:00 PM I'm thinking about a new crate motor for my 75SC (have 202,000 miles on the original 350)...I was looking at the GM Goodwrench 290 HP 350 because it's in my price range but then I found out that they're assembled in Mexico...Does anyone have any experience or horror stories about these motors?...I'd like to keep my car 100% made in the USA but don't want to spend a fortune...I'd appreciate some advice...thanks
mike73z 07-04-2005, 07:28:00 PM I work for GM, most of the crates are made in Mexico or Canada, they are still reliable. GM does make sure they are in spec

Javelin3o4 07-07-2005, 07:18:00 PM I as well bought the gm350 about 3 years or so ago, had it in my 70 ran like a champ have a edelbrock performer intake, carb, and cam kit in it. Its been sitting now for about 2 years or so i got rid of my 70 due to all the work that it needed, but now i have a 71 that its going to go in.
towhog 07-12-2005, 06:14:00 PM BowHunter I hope that you see this post. Headman makes a "D" port shaped header and will fit the ZZ4 "D" port heads perfectly. I had the Supper Comps and I like the Headman best. I have modifid my ZZ4 and ran it on a dyno 420hp and 427Q
dwright406 07-12-2005, 06:50:00 PM I had a zz3 in my 70 back in the day with some cheap Hooker Comps, they fit fine. I think they are the same heads, the plugs aren't at as much of an angle as other angle plug heads.
towhog 07-13-2005, 12:04:00 AM Yes hooker comps will bolt right up and work. However the ZZ4 does have a D shap exhaust port and Headman makes a good header that fits the ZZ4 and ZZ430 exhaust, infact they were made just for thoes kind of heads. not sure of the ZZ3 heads.
rscamaro73 07-13-2005, 11:04:00 PM Anyone have any ideas where they ship the GM performance crate motors from ??
If its in PA, I need an exact city/location http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hedman Hustlers, and they are cheaper than the Hookers.
