i think this is the right cam for my setup...

going in a 82 GMC pickup, TH350, 1000 over stock converter, 3.73s(4.56s and spool on hand for race weekends)
what do yall think, other than the torker II isnt the best intake, which i know, but i already had it here, so i used it.

Should work pretty well. Lunati released that same grind within the last 3 years as "new and improved" although TRW had it for many years, go figure. We haven't used that cam as of yet.

I would not put any larger cam in a truck. Just my opinion. You should be alright with that one, but I would not go any wilder.

Could be anywhere from a high 13 to a low 16, tough to guess at that for a truck. Keep in mind with 33's your 4.56 gears won't go very far for the 1/8th, you should be looking for something in the upper 5 series range for a lower output 350 to get some decent times. 4.56 gears act like 3.73's with a normal height tire.

the whole reason i chose this cam is because i figured it was about as big as i could go with what i have...
thanks for the input
as for the gears...4.56 is the lowest gearset i have right now...maybe i should order a smaller set of tires?

smaller tires at the track would work too. Borrow a set of 8x26 slicks and try them, they should do the trick on the eighth.

Imho, the intake duration is too big, even with 4.56 gears!
Do yourself a favor and install a good old CC 270S or no bigger then a 282S solid cam and be done with it!!
Use a cheap $25 set of Z-, (-142) springs or the ones CC recommend if you want to spend more money.. Sucker will rpm as high as you have nerve enough to hold her down, imho....

i think you are looking at the advertised duration...check the @.050 duration and i assure you it looks alittle more realistic!
