is there a way to switch a 2 piece rear main 350 to a 1 piece?
i coulda swore i read someone on another board tell someone to change theirs over..is this possible?..

The block, crankshaft and flywheel and oil pan are different, so if you get yourself a 1 piece rear main shortblock, you need the matching flywheel and oil pan and everything else will swap including your old style top end. (heads, etc.)

You can go the other way as we machine a lot of the one piece seal blocks and we use the older 2 piece cranks in them by changing the rear seal adaptor and they have an adaptor to go to the early pans and adaptors to use the late pans as well. We keep both types of adaptors on the self.

they make a kit that if you modify the block alittle you can install a one piece rear main seal..I don't know where to get it though..

I'm using that adaptor/kit on my 1 piece rear main seal 383. It's a '92 Yukon 350 with a 400 crank from a 70's Monte.
