I am reinstalling the dash cluster in a 1970 camaro. I can not locate the two wire plug for the amp gage. wiring has been monkeyed with before I got in there. my diagram does not even show the gage option. Anyone know where these two wires come from. Thanks for any help

I did an idiot light to gauge conversion on my 1970 RS/SS a few years ago. It took me forever to find the 100% correct cluster w/correct spedo and tach with correct redline. When I did the conversion, I purchased a 1970 dash w/gauges harness. I'm struggling to remember but I think the connector came from the bulkhead connector of the gauge harness (where it mounts under the dash near the firewall). I also purchased a Front Light harness to get the amp gauge wiring but I think I later found out that I didn't have to purchase this. I'll have to double check everything tomorrow evening, that's if you don't find out before then.

Well... The connector is part of the gauge harness and it comes off of the harness at the gauge end. I still don't remember about the Front Light harness but I think you did need to purchase this also. It's easy to change but pricing if bought new (~$140). I know all of the books mention a unique difference between Front Light harnesses for idiot lights and guages. They must know what they're talking about. I hope this helps a little.
