Has any one installed a tuned port injection on a second gen camaro? If so what kind of mods have to be made?

It's a bolt on. The main thing is the fuel pump in the tank.

someone told me the tank would have to be modified so it would have pressure to work properly. if so how could this be done? could the pump out of the donor car be mounted in the 79 tank? or will I have to buy an in line pump? This TPI came off a 86 305 my 79 has a 350 bored 30 over, will this be a problem?

Go to my website and click on EFI guide.
However, be advised...
I was trading e-mails with another member here (bigman99) who has a 79 and was not able to incorporate the late 3rd gen sending unit that I have in my tank. You may want to e-mail him about his solution to it.
I'll be updating the guide later with info from him.
