I've searched high and low and cannot seem to find specs for this. I'm wanting to put this 307 together to put in my fire wood hauler. I am not looking for a performance engine, this truck never leaves the property it just hauls wood for the stove. Anyways, the journals were pretty scarred so I took it to work and polished it but by the time I got it useable here are what my journals measured.

Mains Rods
1-2.4470 1&2- 2.0984-2.0983
2-2.4467 3&4- 2.0986
3-2.4462 5&6- 2.0984-2.0981
4-2.4467 7&8- 2.0983-2.0980
5-2.4463

I didn't get a roundness measurement and I'm sure it needs to be within around .001. Even with .002 bearings would this work. or would that leave too much clearance?

the +.001's should do fine for a farm truck!! really,, you want to check the running clearance with plasticguage or the like. the actual blueprint spec is just that,, a range to be in. it's more important to know the running clearance. anywhere between .0008-.003 will be ok for what you're doing with it. #3 main looks a little small,, but will be fine for what you're doing.

perfect is nice,, but generally like to see less than .0002-.0003 taper or out of round for anything stock or stock replacement. closer to perfect if used in performance. but you'd be surprised what will go together and run. my 2 cents.

Don't expect to see much oil pressure at an idle but for the application it will work. If we knew the mains were round then .002" U/S bearings would get you closer to spec, but hand polishing and roundness is extremely unlikely. .001"/.001" bearings like Rat stated will do the trick.
You probably would have been better off leaving the journals looking ugly and ran the .001's as is since the low spots in the journals just fill with oil anyways.
