I have a 350 with #333882 76cc heads and I need to know if the exhaust ports are round or square. The car is in a storage locker where it's not so easy to work on. My winter part gathering depends on this, so any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Calvin

The reason this question was asked is because we suspect a header leak and we want to know which style of header gasket to get. I've never dealt with headers so I'm no help to the kid here.

The header determines the header gasket. If you go with a small square header gasket that will be closest to the factory port shape, and if you get the Fel Pro blue header gaskets with the steel core you will be happy.

forget the header gaskets all together.. The best gaskets I have found for headers are the fel pro exhaust manifold gaskets for a sbc v-8. The norm shiny metal on one side and cardboard looking on the other side.

Those works best IMO on headers.

Most header gaskets will burn or blow out, the manifold gaskets won't

+1. Check to see if the header flange is warped. The flange on the headers I just yanked off my 400 were visibily warped out in the middle. The only way I could get them to seal up was to double up on the manifold gasket on that side - and then I was forever retorquing the bolts... It was a good TEMPORARY fix until I could replace the headers.

Thanks for the tips. I will definately keep those fel pro gaskets in mind. If the headers are warped I guess they'll end up with doubled up gaskets on my monte and the camaro will get a new set. Thanks, Calvin
