Ive been running prestone long life yellow coolant in my camaro now for 3 months, it seems to be doing a good job so far. Has anyone else used this stuff before? I was running straight water with water wetter and some anti-corrision stuff before but since Ive been having to drive my camaro daily this winter I decided to switch over to anti-freeze, occasionly it will get to 32*F here overnite and I dont want to even slightly run the risk of damaging my engine.

The bottle label I beleave says the coolant is good for up to 5 years.

I just noticed today at work that a ford focus had yellow coolant, I asked one of the other mechanics and he said new fords are getting that type of coolant now from the factory. I figure it must be fords type of long life coolant, I guess Ill be seeing how well it does or doesnt work.

The new "yellow" coolant used in Fords and some new Chryslers is called G-05 Antifreeze. It is not in any way similar to GM's Dex-Cool. Dex-Cool is a OAT (organic acid technology) coolant. G-05 is HOAT (hybrid organic acid technology) coolant. The G-05 has been tested and tested and has not been proven to cause any problems at all.
