just want to thank everyone who replied to my post , i have a new rocker arm on the way, i was just wondering what do you guys think caused the failure, anything i should look for when i put it back together. the motor is a fairly stock 454 and the pushrod broke through the rocker arm , it didn't bend the push rod or hurt it in anyway it's not marked up or anything and the cam and lifter look fine,any ideas what would cause that?

Maybe a stuck valve... and the piston hit the valve. I'd be sure and check to make sure its not bent.
