i found a complete running 400 block that has the 817 casting on it... its a 2 bolt right>??? Supposibly it was rebuilt about 2-5,000 miles ago and ran great but is pretty much stock from what the guy says...It comes with a weiand Team G intake, double roller chain, and mickey thompson valve covers.... He's asking $800.00 Does this sound like a good deal or should i hold out???
THanks

Some guys like Dirt Reynolds on here are using the 817 block with great success. For $800 if it's complete with intake I'd jump on it. The 400 is getting hard to find! I'd put away 2 or 3 for spares when I find them for a fair price.

Well.... If you need a stock engine to drive around on thats not a bad price at all for a rebuilt running engine with 5,000 miles.
Yes the factory 817 block is a 2 bolt main

The Team G intake is pretty far from stock (however, I have always liked this intake), but sounds like a good deal to me. Try and find out what cam is in it.
