i need to check my wires on my Distributor and i am a little lost could some one post a pic of the wire on the Distributor for me please thanks eddie

1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 is the firing order

that bit i know but how what isit on the dis. cap

look at h.p. mods. distrubtor install,this will tell you how to find #1,I have a book at home with picture I will try to send later.

sorry can not get scanner to work for picture.If you still need one try google search or maybe some else has one.also read your other post,it sounds like needs timing set.

ya i know its smothing with the ignition i would like to check the wires out befor messing with the dis. thanks any way 79

The wires can be started on any post on the dist. aslong as you follow the firing order and timing engine (point rotor) at which every spot on your dist. you put #1 plug wire on.

GM and most people puts #1 wire on the front side of the place that sticks out for your 12 volt wire and tach wire


And the firing order goes clock wise

The next tower to the pass. side from there would be #8, then 4, 3, 6, 5 , 7 , 2

And remember driver side bank front to rear is 1 3 5 7

Pass. side is 2 4 6 8
