My 1970 Coupe is equipped with a 350 2bbl carb set-up. I am ready to upgrade to a 4bbl carb.
I've got a hold of an original 1970 Aluminum dual-plane Intake from the Z-28 model I was planning on using, as well as the finned aluminum valve covers. I would like to replicate the look of the Z-28 engine, but since it is not a real Z-28... I don't see the need to get an originally equipped Holley carb, although I do want to replicate that classic look.
I have heard many people suggest to me to stay away from the Holley and go with Edelbrock. They say the Holley will be too tempermental and be hard to adjust and would need tuning if not driven often enough or need attention after sitting in storage all winter.
Any opinions on what carb to use? Holley 4150, 4160, Street Avenger; Edelbrock Thunder Series, performer; or Barry Grant's Demon line of carbs?
What do you have on your small blocks?
Thanks!
