Even though lots of people have told me not to bother with the 6.2L I want to rebuild mine.
Is a diesel much harder to rebuild than a normal gas? Is the price similar to a basically stock rebuilt gas. Any good sites that give some pointers?
Thanks

6.2's are about 2 to 5 times more expensive than a normal 350 small block.
3 problem areas
mainline cracks leading out of the bolt holes
crankshafts break (have yours mag'd)
Heads crack between valves, a good shop will have the sleeve kit to repair this problem.

www.northernautoparts.com (http://www.northernautoparts.com) has rebuild kits for your engine. Yes, the kiit is pricey.
I have a friend with a 6.2 Diesel in an '86 Suburban. Thing pulls really strong, and he doesn't baby it either (does let it warm up first) maybe he just has a factory 'ringer' but it seems like a good engine.

Oh and the heads and block will need to be resurfaced, the fire ring on the head gasket brinnel the cast iron, especially on the ends of the block.
