I plan to replace oil pan/gasket on my z28 in a couple of days, and trying to figure out which pump to go with...stock or high volume. I drive the car everday and I don't race it, so I'm thinkin stock oil pump will work, but I'm not sure. By the way, what's good oil pressure at idle? Mine is at 10-15 psi at idle, depending on outside temp. Happy New Year Everybody!!

It is recommended that you not use the Melling M55, M55A,M55HV oli pumps if you have a vehicle that falls into the following line up.
Is subjected to heavy shock,
heavy vibration,
has a manual transmission,
slicks,
solid Motor mounts.
Also be aware that Melling manufactures most standard Chevy oil pumps on the market.
If you order Sealed Power, Moroso, and probably GM, you are going to get a Melling pump in a different box.

If you get a HV, I'd also get the steel collared shaft for it as well. Throw away the stock nylon collared shaft. It's nice cheap insurance.
