I have a 2000 Silverado Z71 pickup with the vortec 5.3L engine. It has 49k miles on it. Recently it started cranking slow like the battery was week of something... so it's 4+ years old I put a new Interstate battery in it. Well now when its cold the first time you turn it over it acts slow again, but after you try to crank it again it seems to get stronger but still not how I think it should be.

Any thoughts???

Thanks,

ChevyReb

Make sure the connections are good on both ends of your battery cables. I had a car in recently with a loose ground on the block that did much the same as yours.

Yep, had a '96 GMC Sierra that had a loose connection going into the main fuse block, sent everything into a frenzy. Also, the starter might be worn, pulling too many amps.
