Is there an alternative to the plastic or copper lines that is flexable for oil pressure guages? I am mounting a gouage cluster in my cowel hood and need the oil line to be flexable.

I'm pretty sure they're in the Summitt catalog along with AN fittings.

i bought mine directly from earls products and they can also be found on the russell products website also . basically it's a -3AN braided line and all you'll need is just the 90deg fitting to attach it to your gauge and a flare to pipe fitting that'll be installed in the back of your block next to the distributor . i think i spent 45.00 for both fittings and a 4' piece of -3AN line .another way to get a pre-made line and all your fittings is find a hose mfg in your area that makes hi-press lines and a place that comes to mind is hose pros

Didn't think of the having one made. We have a custom tube/hose maker down the street. :)

Nylon was good enough for the General, so it's good enough for me!!

I take it you've never had hot oil spraying on your legs while cruising down the road at night.
That was my last experience with nylon, 13+ years ago.

the nylon line on my car made a real pretty campfire under my hood one night at the strip. I had a little bit of gas on the intake from messing with the nitrous system, had a backfire that lit the fuel which would have burned itself out in about 5 seconds but that was long enough to melt the nylon making it a 60psi flame thrower heh. All while going about 130mph down the track.

Doug
no Nylon for me thank you

Track safety rules out here say "no nylon lines"...for that very reason.

I had nylon on two cars until the one on the Camaro got brittle and broke when I bumped it while working on the motor. Now it's copper.

I too have had the carpet soaked with oil from a leaking poly line. The gas pedal got slippery and when I investigated it was at the connection to the guage. luckily it didnt catch on fire lol...

Braided steel

I learned that the hard way! My nylon oil gauge line became embrittled over time and snapped off at the fitting- ended up with a huge mess in my driveway. I'm just glad it happed IN my driveway and not on the road! Needless to say I switched to a braided line after that.
