Ok these pics are from the firewall going to my starter and alt. I have 2 going to the alt the third is not shown, 1 going to the starter and 1 that was just not used. I was wondering if its ok for these to be like or should i get a new engine harness? I m only asking is because i had a direct short and just got my starter and alternator rebuilt and dont wont to fry anything with this sh%^ty wiring.

Read this article for information on the electical system. http://www.madelectrical.com/electricaltech/chevymain1.shtml Maybe this will help. I know it will explain the splice.

Thanks that explained about half of my question. My only other question is are there only supposed to be 3 wires going into that splice or 4, because when it was running only 3 of the 4 were used. The unused wire has a clip on the end. thanks
