I was given a 350 4-bolt out of a 1982 3/4 ton chevy van and I plan on putting it in my 79 Z but I would like to make sure that it is a reliable block for one and I would like to know what it would take to get it there.(350 to 400 horse) Does anyone know what these motors put out stock?
Is this motor any better than a two bolt of the same year?
HELP!

I only plan on making it a weekend diver,(not an actual race car) but I will be driving it on the highway.

Welcome to the board whitelight. Search and Read these forums - you will find how to make 400+ reliable hp from a 350. There is a good chance that you engine is a 4 bolt main, which is a plus.

That should not be a problem problem as that must be a 207 casting and if that has 2482 four bolt center caps GM rates those blocks at 450 horse.

Thank you corkyE I will search the threads. I removed the pan and found that it is a 4-bolt.
