So - short of playing the game for hours on end are there any tricks to unlocking kits early?
Do you have to play online on ranked servers to unlock?

No fast ways to unlock, you have to play online on ranked servers to gain points needed to unlock. If you only play singleplayer, tere are hacks that will unlock all kits for you, but killing bots is relatively boring in the long run.

First unlock will be at 500 points, next at 800 points, next at 2500, 5000 and 8000 points.

You get points for kills, capturing flags, teamwork (healing and reviving other players, supplying them with ammo or repairing their vehicles) so you rack up points as you go. Fast or slow depends on luck and skill.

I find that when i game to "be best" things kinda go slow, but as i join a squad and help them as a team, i have much more fun and i score big points much, much faster. ;)

So I'm going to have to get this game to find out what all the hoopla is about...
my box is an AMD Semperon 2400+ , 256 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce MX 4000
Will it run it or will this be another one of those fustrating computer experiences?

Your processor is MORE than enough, but you will probably need to upgrade your RAM to AT LEAST 512mb , but I'd suggest a full 1GB.

The GeForce 4000 I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to say that it WILL work.
Just upgrade your RAM and you should be rockin. Oh.....and a semi-decent speedy connection is necessary to play it online.

Geforce 4000 = die in a fire. You'll have to upgrade that ASAP, and the game will laugh at the lack of RAM.
