well as you all know michigans weather in the winter is shit, and salt is all over the roads, well ive tryed to have it parked in the backyard almost 50% of the winter so far, but it is one of my only cars so its trouble, and i opened up the hood today to throw in a new batery and i see the engines all covered with salt like dust, maybe from snow or just salt but its covered bad, like my fuel fliter is so dirty on the outside u can to whip it off to see it. can i just take it to a do it urself car wash and throw a garbage bag over the carberator and distributor ? or what should i do? and also im trying to keep the body good so i wash it about ounce a week, is that pretty good ?

I'd say if you have the cahonies to wash your car once a week in the freezing Michigan weather, you are doing pretty good!! Do your hands freeze? http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

Yes you can wrap up the carb and distributor and steam clean the engine. Just make sure it cools off before you do it or you could crack the block.
