Hey all,
Just wondering, when stock, cast iron heads are modified for screw-in studs and guide plates, do the holes generally go though the roof of the intake port like alot of the after market heads????????
I am still oil fouling plugs and this is the only other place that I havent checked. I know I didnt seal the studs when I installed them.
Thanks in advance,
Shane

Small or big block? On factory small block head castings you have about a 50/50 chance of the studs going into the intake port or just entering the water jacket. 882 castings definately go into the intake port.
The only way to be certain is to pull out one of the intake studs (exhaust aren't a concern) and check.

Thanks rust,
They are small block. I was kinda figuring that would be the case. I bought them from Performance Chevy a couple years ago and never bothered to check much of anything on them.
First project for the spring!!!
