I need some help on the wiper switch for a 70 w the hidden wiper option?I know the 70 switch is shorter in length than the later switches?'m trying to fix the dash disaster of the previous owner,My car had a mid 70's ? dash bezel and wiper switch. The switch is all plastic with a hole for a light (on the left side of the switch)for the washer wiper warning light? On the back there are 4 prongs in a L patern.
I'm trying to replace everything with the proper stuff for a 70.I located a few shorter switches from a 70 and a 71 firebird that had hidden wipers but they have 3 prongs in a straight row, does anyone know if they are going to be the right switch?I remember someone posting that the 70-73 hidden wiper switch having extra prongs?
I need to order the wiring harnesses from M&H, does the either the main harness or the dash harness have the right setup for the depressed wipers switch if there is a difference in the switches?

Actually the early switch (70-72) had one less prong than later models. The ground attaches to one of the screws on the standoffs for the bezel. The case is the ground on the older switches. I had to go to a 70-72 switch to get it to fit the Classic Industries bezel that I bought.

I was looking up in the Chevy parts interchange book and they have 2 switch listings for the 70 wipers, one for wipers w park and a different part # for reg wipers.???? Anyone know the difference?I'm guessing that the Firebird switches are the same since they had the wipers w park ?
The only #'s I can find on these switches is 098,it is stamped on the underside of the metal plate the switch is mounted to.They have 3 horizontal prongs in a row,at the one end of the prongs there's a vertical plastic "tower"
I'm just trying to figure this all out before I start rewiring the car
