So me and a buddy go out to the country to rescure a car this past weekend, and let me tell you.. TAKE SOME F*CKING GOOD TOOLS with as they will come in handy for the adventure.

Well number one. make sure you understand and respect electric fences... glove would of been nice. so why the electric fence i ask??? As i step in all kinds of COW SH*T.. Never mind i figured it out.

#2- Where is this car? look there in the trees. Good according to the plates on the car its been here since 1985. Good thing those trees decided to grow on all 4 sides of the car>> Bastard trees.

Well me at 193LBS and stick boy i was with decide to pull the trees down away from the car.Success. but still MORE COW SH*T everywhere. my God why do they SH*T so much?

#3 Bring air tank and compressor. Cool Bias ply tires from canadian tire will still hold air after 20 years in the mud. Good ol canadian tire.

#4 bring good rope chain strap etc. Rope #1. SNAP!!!!!!!!!!! Wow that F*CKER realy went flying.Good thing i am hiding behind the grainery having a p*ss when this happens. Strap number 2 gets the job done with me hanging in the window steering the car to a place that has less COW SH*T than any other?? hard to fine really.

#5 Bring cordless drill with fully charged batteries. I guess they never leave the power on after people move off the farm? we had to drill 2 holes in the bumper brackets to mount the tow bar.well needless to say, "I thought they were full charged isnt going to get it done. Luckily we were able to get one done full and the other part way through. That poor screw driver got a nice Funeral after we beat it to death.

#6 Bring something beat rusted brake drum, ( Going to be one F*CKER stuck ) every time!!!!!!!!! Guess we both thought the other would bring a hammer? Open the trunk, thank God Keys still in the car. TADA an AXE we can use this to hit it. Well after 3 hours of lying in COW SH*T 2 broken screw drivers we got it loose enough to put the tires back on. Gordie dragged that car around the yard in 4WD through ALL THE COW SH*T till that bastard broke free. his truck and the car were covered in it. I LMFAO.

The tires held all the way home, this was a 1-1/2 hr trip. we got it home, and looked at what we had. it appears to be a 325Hp 327 with 4 BBL TH 400 and a 12 bolt in a 4 door car. Pretty cool. The heads are double hump heahds with no accessory holes in them, the 12 bolt is not a posi, but who cares its a good core. I took the TH-400 and all the linkage and kickdown switched and wiring, plus the driveshaft. Gordie is keeping the motor and might sell the 12 bolt? The motor has the same castin number on it as a 302 or a 350? Does the 302,327,350 use the same block> I know they are all the same bore size, with a 1/4' stroke difference in each motor? i wonder if this 327 will be a 4 bolt main and have a steel crank.

Next time and most important thing to bring when taking cars home from the bush. RUBBER BOOTS.

haha sounds like a blast grumpy lol.. minus the cow pies. I am currently waiting for someone to go to my previous place of work so i can throw the hood on my camaro and drive it outta there. FINALly. Then next weekend I get to do a serious road test as i am driving it about 2 and a half hours to our farm south of Craik, where i get to park it in the shop until i can afford materials to finally paint the thing! so pumped! But then I get to do what u just did. Good thing is i wont have the cow pies by this gem. the electric fence i do, but thats ok i just make my cousin test to see if its on or not lol. After I drop the camaro off I get to rescue a late 30 early 40s???? GMC panel truck.. Im SO PUMPED. its all there, no rust, just need to freshen up the motor, and redo the back axle and it should drive. That bad boy is goign to be awesome. GOod work on getting the 400 and such.. are you going to use that in the ride? when does the new motor go in?

I don't believe a word of your story.

You talk about tree's surounding the car & I honestly can't believe that all 4 of the trees in Saskatchewan just happened to be around this one car.

Now if you said that you had to drag the car up a hill, I'd have known for sure you were BS'ing us.

I once helped haul a wrecked GT500 Shelby out of a swamp. No cowpies but equally entertaining. I did well in $$$ rebuilding and selling the powertrain on that one. Great story and I bet when the dust settles you will do well with it.

I'm not suprised at the goodies under the carcass. I also got lucky once at a wreckers about 25 years ago and found a set of 2.02 heads complete with screw in studs on a 4 door 60's Beaumont.

I thought we bought Saskatchewan with the last budget surplus????

I thought we bought Saskatchewan with the last budget surplus

Surely you aren't implying that the entire area of our foliagely-impaired, pooltable flat neighbouring province is worth that much?
Or did you mean we spent a small portion of the surplus? :D

I'm just picking on our neighbours, I've met tons of great people from Sashabush but for some strange reason, 95% of them live in Calgary now.

If there was an electric fence there...
Why didn't you follow it to find the power supply to recharge the cordless screwdriver?

Great BS story, actually I guess it was CS! ;)

the car we went to rescue was a 68 Pontiac 4door, nothing special, but has some parts in it. my new project is a 69 Chevelle, i found in a farm for $1500.00 It came with a 307 glide and a 12 bolt too. so i now have a 454 ready to go in and the 12 bolt is getting a 3 series posi with gears and now i have a TH-400 the car will be bench seat column shift, and i also found 4 COPO camaro dog dish hub caps in ontario. i got some 15x7 steel wheels from the wrecker and away we go, instant sleeper.

Yep lol. Im unemployed now, so all my time and energy goes to working on all the projects i got laying around in various places. Until next week anyways. I got my oilfield safety Courses starting monday. Thanks for all your help Cragger with that. Ive gotten a hold of a couple places now and EVERYONE says you call us back when u get so and so safety then we'll see. So for now im getting the camaro in tip top shape to drive it for 2 and a half hours on friday to the farm. Speaking of which, all i have left is the speedo cable to find a way to make it work. I have a 4 spd saginaw, with a hurst super indy Shifter. THe shift rods are all in the way of where the speedo cable has to go. I can fight like a SON of a gun and get it on there, but then when i shift into reverse i think it is the rod catches it and puts a kink in it. anyone got any ideas on how to get around this? or ever heard of this? is this just because my shifter isnt the proper one or what?

For what? Finding trees in Saskatchewan? lol.

airzemee, even the newfies do well in the oil patch, and gooood $ there. But if you want, we always have a turnover here in the forest and you can run your own biz on the side... or go right into a dealership shop. Lots of work.
