View Full Version : Need help in Carolina
HotRodChevy 08-22-2006, 07:24:59 PM Hello everyone my name is Randy,I have been lurking on the site for about a month now enjoying the wealth of knowledge on here.I bought a 76 lt about 3 months ago, this weekend i finally got my new motor in:D 383 with a 177 weind blower. Thw motor runs great it was built by Beal Racing engine in Thomasville.I am extremly happy with it but that brings me to my problem.I called today to set up an appt to get the exhaust put on.Well much to my suprise he said no true duals:mad: ,said headers into 1 cat then could split into 2 pipes. What can i do, does anyone know of any local shops that will run them for me.The motor dynoed at 517.3 rwhp @ 5900 and 562.9 at 4000 with open headers. If i choke this down into 1 cat even a high flow i am afraid it will kill it.The builder said with the blower i needed alot of exhaust.Any way sorry for the long post but i am stumped. Thanks in advance for your help..

They do EXCELLENT work. I called the other day and got a price. 2 1/2" Aluminized pipe, an "H" pipe, 40 series Flow's and turn downs was $340, installed. Same setup in S/S pipe was $700. I know a ton of hot rod people that have used them and will keep using them.
Can't wait to see pictures. Good luck.
72CamaroSS 08-22-2006, 11:12:05 PM p.s. If all else fails. I have a complete 2 1/2" exhaust collecters, "H" pipe, 40 series Flow's and full tail pipes, I'll sell you for $150. It sounds bad as hell. The only reason I'm not putting it back under my car is cause of the tail pipes. I don't want them, but I don't want to cut them off a good system.
HotRodChevy 08-23-2006, 08:01:16 AM John thanks alot for the info. I will give them a call and i think i will use the dragcar line.If this doesnt work i would be interested in your system.I really wanted to dump it at the rear axle but beggers cant be chosers. Thanks again will let you know what happens.
HotRodChevy 08-23-2006, 01:08:29 PM I called this morning and they said no problem..I have an appt next Thursday the 31 at 8am:D ..Now if anyone wants to give me some tips on posting the pics i will. thanks again John
