Americanmuscle13 05-04-2006, 01:13:19 PM Anybody interested in getting together again this year? Might even be able to drive my car this year.... Depending on if it cooperates . I'm thinking a group burnout picture this year. Anybody interested? Unfortunately I'm not in a position to host anything, but I'd up for meeting again.

Could be fun... ;)
Let's see who's interested this year.
I'm thinking a group burnout picture this year.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking AGAIN?!?
Warning: I can only do burnouts in circles. :(
Unfortunately I'm not in a position to host anything, but I'd up for meeting again.
If you can't host... Hmmmm.
I know!!! Let's visit Rerod! :)
Mr_Z27 05-04-2006, 11:39:32 PM I guess I'm not included this year?
Americanmuscle13 05-05-2006, 12:22:51 AM Didn't mean that in any respect Mark, you're more than welcome as far as I'm concerned. I just figured i'd get the ball rolling. "Midwest members" is a little too broad of a thread don't you think?
Americanmuscle13 05-05-2006, 12:25:15 AM Hey terry, we could always put bleach down.....
I"m thinkin somethin like this
http://www.fastcoolcars.com/images/burnouts/camaros_burnout1.jpg
Mr_Z27 05-07-2006, 10:49:54 PM can always count me in.....
wayback 05-08-2006, 09:54:50 PM I might be game, although I'm in the same boat as Terry with burnouts. I'd be okay with hosting but parking is severely limited in the low-budget city neighborhood where I live...
ReRod 05-11-2006, 10:34:56 AM I don't know when my Caprice will be done but I could certainly accomodate enough parking if it's on a Saturday or Sunday. I rent a parking space in a parking lot right on the main drag in town and it's always empty on w/ends.
We could grill out at the state park in town too.
Or every other Friday evening there is a local "cruise in" in a smaller town nearby that always has a great turnout!
TDS-70 1/2 05-12-2006, 04:04:43 PM Hey All,
I saw Mitch's mention of this in ReRod's post. Keep me in mind if a summer meet develops. Doesn't look like I'll have my Camaro on the road by then, but it would be good to catch up with you all anyway.
I got my engine/trans pulled, and then kinda realized I didn't have the $$$ to do much with it yet. So there it sits for now. Then after having my old S-Series Blazer stolen, and now still shopping for a vehicle, the Camaro has tumbled back down the priority list again, sadly.
On a positive note, I pulled all of the parts I had stashed in the car out and went thru them a few weeekends ago. I had better stuff than I remembered. Hoping to get some interior pieces cleaned up and installed while I re-think the plans for the engine, as I can do that work with what I have on hand for the most part.
wayback 05-19-2006, 08:24:10 PM Might want to expand on this idea to include Wisconsin and Iowa to see if we can generate more interest. If worse comes to worst we could go visit Tom and work on his Camaro...:)
Americanmuscle13 05-20-2006, 12:17:38 AM Yeah, we just need to find a place to do it. I'm a college student, so where I live is out of the question. Mark is from SD, I"d be all for people coming from further out. As for Tom's camaro, that's a lot of beer for all of us :D....
MidniteZ 05-20-2006, 12:46:09 AM Might want to expand on this idea to include Wisconsin and Iowa to see if we can generate more interest. If worse comes to worst we could go visit Tom and work on his Camaro...:)
I like this idea. Make it a regional thing. I'd be in for that.
wayback 05-20-2006, 01:00:28 AM I'm guessing there are others who feel the same way you do Midnite. Anyone care to take the point on an expanded get-together thread in this forum? :brightide A less urban location might be the ticket...
MidniteZ 05-21-2006, 01:03:09 AM N.E. Iowa, S.E. Minnesota, Or S.W. Wisconsin? Anybody?
TDS-70 1/2 05-24-2006, 10:04:16 AM I like this idea. Make it a regional thing. I'd be in for that.
Oh, and here I thought you were liking the idea of working on my car. . . . LOL!!!
:whine:
Americanmuscle13 05-25-2006, 12:54:42 AM Well, i've got some news. My car will probably have paint on it by the time this happens. :D It'll actually look decent. lol Now I just need to drop my stroker in.
schitzo 05-29-2006, 11:14:12 AM this sounds like a good idea....i missed last years meet but would like to make it this year......I believe my car should be running by then.
wayback 05-30-2006, 06:05:32 PM Looks like there's plenty of interest here. All we need at this point is for someone with a lot of parking space to play host...
79Cam-> 06-03-2006, 03:03:50 AM id be down for it as long as my cars willing too
Matt's 73 z 06-03-2006, 02:28:17 PM OK........ I'll make the offer to host it this year. I live in the country and have plenty of room. Let me know if you guys interested.
wayback 06-03-2006, 03:30:00 PM Yeeee-haaa! You're the man! :smokin: I'm game--and I still want to see your pics from last year! :bowtie:
What weekend were you thinking about? Anything going on in Mankato or other towns in the area that would be cruise-worthy? Maybe something like a yearly small-town party with a parade?
Would you be okay with anyone camping on your property after it gets late? This might be big for those traveling a long distance on a limited budget.
You've still got time to change your mind. But if you're okay with a bigger turnout, this meet should be posted to include Iowa and Wisconsin members. :bowtie:
Can't thank you enuf for the offer Matt. Hope to see you soon. :D
Mr_Z27 06-03-2006, 07:37:59 PM OK........ I'll make the offer to host it this year. I live in the country and have plenty of room. Let me know if you guys interested.
Yeah......mock me guys but is it all paved to your place?
Matt's 73 z 06-04-2006, 12:23:19 AM OK.......I've been thinking about this all day.
I think it would be really cool to make this get together an event. I can get 3-4 campers that would sleep about 20 people. I have no problem with a weekend party. ( actually.....I could really use one about now )
As far as when we do this..........I'll leave that up to you guy's ( I think we are going to Vegas at the end of July ) My best guess is any weekend in August-September. I think we should just ask everyone what will work for them and then pick the best date and I'll make sure I keep it open.
I also think if this weekend thing works out that we should open it up to all members. Let's post this in the BS section.......You never know who's gonna show up.
Yes Mr_ Z27........... it's all paved roads. I may live in Hickville but........ I don't live in south dakota............BURN:)
The offer is on the table. If you guys don't want to travel down to southern MN I'll understand.
schitzo 06-04-2006, 01:12:32 AM sounds good to me.......would be nice to meet up with other members.
August would work best for me.
I think it is a great idea to invite anybody who can make it from wherever.
ReRod 06-04-2006, 03:22:28 AM My w/ends off (F,S,Sun) in Aug:
11th-13th
25th-27th
W/ends off in Sept:
8th-10th
22nd-24th
Way to step up Matt! Your place sounds like they'd be plenty of room:cool: I like the multi-day thing too. We could BS around a bonfire or something after it gets dark.
Twisted_Metal 06-04-2006, 05:22:30 PM Thanks Matt!
I hope to be there. Keep us informed about the date.
I'm pretty open to any weekend so far.
I would be willing to host again this year but things have been a bit tough around here with my wife lately. :(
I could use a party to let off some steam too!
MidniteZ 06-04-2006, 08:22:06 PM I might make it if my work schedule coincides. My weekends off for those months are...Aug.- 26th & 27th
Sept.-23rd & 24th
But I've got single days of vacation left to burn, so whatever works for the host is cool. Can I bring my daughter though? She thought it might be kind of fun. Thanks Matt for stepping up.
Matt's 73 z 06-05-2006, 12:32:31 AM Twisted.........I'm sorry to hear about your relationship troubles . I hope everything works out.
MidnightZ.......You're more than welcome to bring your daughter. I have 3 daughters ( 13, 9, and 7 ) and a 1 1/2 year old boy that will be here for the party.
It's starting to look like the last weekend in Aug. might be our best bet.
wayback 06-05-2006, 02:31:41 AM Awesome idea Matt! Aug 26-27 should work for me--rain or shine. Prolly come down on Saturday and could stay until Sunday.
If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know...
TDS-70 1/2 06-05-2006, 08:03:32 PM I like this idea, Matt. I hope that it falls on a weekend that I have free, I'd enjoy the little road trip, and the chance to make a big party out of it, too!!
 :lush:
Mr_Z27 06-06-2006, 10:41:48 PM Speaking of South Dakota, did you hear about the new Zoo our state is funding? We are going to put a fence around Minnesota.
By the way I thought you lived on some kind of acreage so thats why I figured you probably had gravel roads. :)
The later in the year the better for me as we are working a sh!t pot full of mandatory overtime right now. Otherwise a Saturday night camp over would work best as we have been only working til about 3pm on Saturdays.

That's funny because we just took the kids to the zoo yesterday.
We have about 7 acres but we're only a mile from town so, it's all paved roads.
Will the end of Aug. work for you ?
Mr_Z27 06-07-2006, 12:04:18 AM Sounds good, I'll add it to my planner.... as if I had one of them gay things....I live day by day but I'll ad it to my non-erasable hard drive in my head.
Americanmuscle13 06-07-2006, 01:45:52 AM Wow..A guy goes on vacation and look what happens. I'd be up for it, I guess i'll find out what kind of mileage my car gets. A specific date would be good, I'll get the time off from work. I'm lookin forward to it.
ReRod 06-07-2006, 08:37:24 AM Just don't do it on the w/end of Aug. 18th-20th if possible. I'll be in Washington during that w/end.

wayback 06-07-2006, 10:24:58 PM End of August (26th & 27th) looks good. After that, I wouldn't be able to be make anything until Sept. 23rd.
I'm curious to see the response to this idea in the BS section. Let me know when you're gonna post it so I can follow the thread...
Matt's 73 z 06-08-2006, 09:35:32 PM OK........I'll plan on Aug. 26-27. I hope everyone can make it!!! I'll post this in the BS section to see what kind of response we get.
wayback 06-15-2006, 01:27:04 AM For those who may have missed it, discussion about this get-together has moved to the "Nasty Z28 party" thread in the BS forum. We've started a list of people who'll be there.
If you're planning to come, it would be helpful to Matt if you added your name to the list so he can make whatever preparations he needs to. There's also info on a very limited number of discount-rate hotel rooms available for Friday and/or Saturday night--if you're interested in one of these you'll want to get going on your reservation asap.
The sooner we know who's gonna make it, the sooner we can start planning on what we're gonna do for fun.:)
RainDownMyBlues 06-16-2006, 05:27:25 AM Screw you guys... Move it to wisconsin or somewhere closer to Illinois.
If you dont do that then someone boardering Illinois, or even better, IN Illinois host one during the spring. After winter I'll have my 500ci monster in the engine bay to replace the 305. Thoughts? Comments :P

Okay... Who invited Cartman?!?
http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/9808/cartman5ld.jpg
You are invited. You can come or not.
I got tired of hearing about other members hanging around with each other in other parts of the country and decided to do something about it. I started a MN get-together last year and Matt decided to carry on with it this year. I enjoyed hosting last year and I am glad we can have another meeting like this. Thanks again, Matt!!!
You have the option of starting your own annual NastyZ28 members meetings closer to home. Put out the word and see who responds.;)
Americanmuscle13 06-17-2006, 12:17:02 AM Anybody planning on being at Car Craft Nationals? I plan on being there all 3 days.
TDS-70 1/2 06-19-2006, 04:01:16 PM Anybody planning on being at Car Craft Nationals? I plan on being there all 3 days.
I'm planning on going one of the days most likely. Maybe more, depending.
The majority of the family is planning on an up-north lake weekend, and they picked that weekend. So I might end up on my own for the entire weekend, rather than dragging the wife and kid to the fairgrounds.
I don't really want to miss the big car show for just another weekend up north. I'll most likely be looking for someone to hang around with as well, as it always seems that everyone has something going on elsewhere that weekend.
ReRod 06-21-2006, 11:34:25 PM http://forums.offtopic.com/images/smilies/rant2.gifCCSN falls on a w/end I work.
prestodixo 06-22-2006, 03:31:05 PM Haven't looked in this thread for a while..........Glad I caught on to this
get-together before it was too late.
I would like to see every one and their cars anytime, Aug. 26 included.

Welcome aboard Presto! Its time for you to go to the party thread and put your name on the list. The more the merrier...
TDS-70 1/2 06-23-2006, 12:30:00 PM Dang, I got bad news the other day. I've got a conflict for that weekend. My daughter plays High School Hockey, and the team has their annual golf tournament fundraiser that Sunday.
Now I was thinking it would still be hardcore to make the drive for a Saturday get-together anyway, but I had volunteered to help with some setup and organization, and don't quite see how I can take care of that AND be out of town at the same time.
I'm majorly disappointed. Was looking forward to seeing some of you all again, and meeting the other members that didn't make it for our meet last year.
