I can tell you what I did for my 69 and my 75. I bought some plastic modelers stock about the size of the lead in a pencil. Then I laid the cluster down and from the back side, I used a soldering iron and used it like a welder. I slowly worked the plastic stock into the cluster material and flowed the two together, adding extra plastic from the stick until I had a little build up and the two were now one. I did the same thing for the dash bezel where they crack and break around the steering column. Do it from the back side and after you paint it, you can't see it.

I fixed mine by bending thin sheetmetal to the proper angle then trimming it to size. Drill for a small screw to mount the tab to the cluster. You must use a very small screw so that it won't interfere with anything. Now you can drill the cluster to dash holes. This works fine won't break off again and can't be seen. Good luck.

HI,
Thanks. I bought a cluster with broken tabs and wanting to put into the 78, not wanting to make it a Z just trying to add some stuff I like.

FYI.. I used JB Weld 2 part epoxy and nylon plastic washers to make the tabs. Worked great. JB Weld really has the "hold" with enough flex not to break away from vibration. Good luck. All materials from Home Depot.
