I am putting a new trunk divider in my 70 behind the back seat.
I also bought trunk divider "insulation" with it.
My question is, does anyone know for sure if the insulation goes on the seat side or the trunk side of the divider?
I think it makes more sense on the seat side, but I don't want to do it twice, so if anyone knows....

i just installed a divider with the padding from pictures ive seen the padding goes against the trunk side and when installed it tightens the rear seat to trunk alot i dont know how you could put the jute backing against the rear seat with out tearing it all up.

I had the same thoughts on another car from the 60's i did and tried it both ways, i ended up doing it towards the car like you mentioned. the reason being is is did not want to see jute from the trunk. just be careful putting the seat in, hook from the top and then just lower the seat to the back and you should not tear the jute. good luck
