I'm dying a 4 speed console that is going in my 81 Z/28. Is the plastic tunnel that goes around the shifter suppose to be black or the interior color like the rest of the console? I've seen a couple of 4 speed cars on E-bay that had that tunnel black and I've seen them the other way. Which is correct?

My 78 four speed tunnel is black. I've never seen one in person that wasn't black. I can't tell you for certain, but I think it should be black.

Yes, all 73-81 4-speed shift tunnels were black and had a silver ring around the raised portion of the lip. You may not see any traces of silver, as it was a thin stripe and wore off rather quickly.
