Hey everyone, I was wondering if you guys could help me out. My daughter is getting her driver's license real soon, so I guess we are starting to look for a car to buy. She is very into the muscle cars. She loves the 98-02 f-bodies. She wants a ws6, but of course those are rare to find and a lot of money if you find one with good miles. I want her to get an automatic. My question to you guys is if you can ever let me know if you see an f-body at any dealers near you or know someone that is selling one. We would also be interested in the 3rd gen camaros since those would be cheaper. Any help or info would be great. Thanks!

unfortunatly i usualy dont see many f-bodys at the dealerships around here, lol i dont really look that much, but the ford dealership has a brand new looks to be a shelby on the floor >:) and the dodge dealership has some nice chargers. lol

no chevy dealerships too clsoe to me, except one that has a very bad rep for ripping people off

There are thousands of them for sale all the time.

I would not suggest a 98, it's the changover year to the LS1 motor for the f-body, and it's got the highest case of issues with the motor. 99-02 are all good.

If you want to go a little cheaper 94-97's f-bodies are just as good, and you can get them for as little at 4-5k for a z-28 or transam.

Insurance will sure be high, but at least with an older car, it will come down somewhat.

And they all have ABS and airbags, that's a plus for safety.

Hey again. My daughter goes on cars.com all the time. We never find good firebirds, but there are alot of camaros. Today we found 2 red camaros. One is 98 in Greeley at a honda dealer.( I didn't know about motor problems with the 98 though, I'll keep that in mind.) We also found a 01 by a private indiv. It has 55k with t-tops and she is asking $8100 and it's just a V6, so we might go check it out today. Another thing is too that my daughter doesn't want a red car and that's all she can find. She wants the v8 as well, but I'm telling her that a v6 won't hurt. And it would be better on insurance. If she can't get an f-body, were looking at a dodge stratus RT that has leather interior, real nice, and its around 11,000. I'm a Gm person though, I don't know much about dodges and their maintenance.

And hey 77CamaroSC, my daughter is all GM, she hates fords so she doesn't look too much for those. LOL. Thanks for your guys imput!

Have you checked out craigs list? I just did a quick search that turned up a couple pretty nice looking cars. Might check it out just to see if there's anything you'd be interested in. Good luck.
