Is there anyway to connect an external shiftlight to an in-dash tach? I have a 3 3/8" autometer tach and also have an autometer external shift light, And was wondering if I could use the 2 together? The tach doesnt have a port to plug in the light (light has a plug)

your best bet is to get a external shift lite tach that already has the wire harness . the only option you have right now is open up the existing tach and pig tail wires onto it. now doing this will void any warranty you have to the tach and autometer will not honor it.now if you're getting another tach it's very easy to extend those wires from the shift lite to the tach and mount it were ever you want.

Not completely understanding your question, considering they sell the shift light on it's own, why not?

You can't directly wire it into the tach, but your pretty much just splicing into the wire going to the coil or ignition box if your using one.
