I am trying to sort out my wiring nightmare while the car is at the body shop. I am looking in the wiring diagram book and see a lot of wires for the TCS. They are all cut and I don't remember them ever being hooked up when it ran. I will be running a one wire alternator and a four speed. So can I just get rid of these?
Thanks Guys
Oh yeah, its a 71

Do you still have that funky little clip that holds the wires?
It is worth $$$ on E-Bay.
Search in the "Original Drivetrain Topic". The TCS system has been covered in there.

Its not needed except for a 100% type restoration.

Thanks guys, it is definately not a 100% resto. I actually like to drive my cars. Good to go, I will just delete those wires.

But what was the TCS actual function? It must be there for some kind of reason.
Is TCS the shortening of Transmission Control Spark and how does it work?

It was an emissions deal that only gave you vacuum advance in the higher gears and when the engine was at least partly warmed up. There was a solenoid between the carburetor vacuum source and the vacuum advance canister.

Ok so thats what it's suppose to do. Then it's no point for me to install that stuff now when I have converted from auto to manual.
Thanks for the help /Magnus
