the gauges are auto meter and the guy who had the car before me tried to install them himself and didnt finish the wires are a mess. so if anyone has a good wiring diagram for behind the dash or knows were i can get one it would be a big help

Painless Wiring Harness #30302 should fix you right up if you want a new dash harness

very good schematic strange but can you splice into the factory wire for the fuel level and the oil press
and what size gauges

... can you splice into the factory wire for the fuel level and the oil press

Yes, you can splice into the fuel gauge. As long as your gauge is a 0-90 Ohm unit (0-Empty, 90-Full) your sending unit will work with it.

The Oil pressure gauge will need a sending unit designed to work with your gauge. The wiring ans sending unit for a 2nd gen is for an "idiot light" but it will work to connect the new gauge and the new sending unit. You can also use a mechanical Oil Pressure gauge which will require an oil line rather than a wire.
