I was wanting to replace my torn up door striping. Half the bottom was missing and was letting water in when I drove in the rain.
Anyway, I wanted to buy the GM stuff since its supposed to be the best but I'd also like to paint my car in a couple years and figured it would just need to get redone then. Figuring I didn't want to buy the "good" stuff twice I went ahead and got the Soft Seal brand for $52 for both doors. And I have had no problems on my 71. The fit was perfect. The little plastic holders fit perfect. I did use 3M's adhisive.
Anyway, if your looking to save some cash... This was my experience, for what its worth.

I wish my soft seal fit as well, I installed it 2 yrs ago on my race car and still can't shut the doors. However I just got back from SEMA where I was able to order a latex door seal set I hope to have better luck with this.

The early Soff-Seal products used a harder rubber than the original GM strips.
My 70 1/2 doors are still difficult to close. I contacted Soff-Seal, and they said that they have remedied this problem. I was told to ship them my old Soff-Seal product, and they would send me their new door strips FREE OF CHARGE (less S&H)
I restored my car back in '92.
Hope this helps,

I have ben waiting for the new latex rubber ones myself. Wish I could have gone to SEMA, but no way.
I also wonder what is going to happen with all the stock of the junk weatherstrips at all/most suppliers.
I know James from Moementum was supposed to let us know when he could get the new latex rubber ones.
If anyone knows a link to a supplier that is selling the new latex door weatherstrips for a 70, please post it.
