Cool. Have yuo been to the cruises in Fenton? They are thr first Friday of every month April - October. It was in Fenton plaza, then the old Shop-N-Save lot. Not sure where they are moving to this year but April is not far away.

I grew up in Arnold just south of Fenton. I am now up in Ballwin.

Read the profile. Cool that it is the original car. I am the 5th owner of mine. And cant wait for the weather to break. I picked up a pair of doors to swap out but it's too cold for me to work out there these days.

There is a swap meet in Columbia, Mo. today and tomorrow but the weather isn't too nice at the moment.

Any plans to bring the car to St. Louis anytime soon? Guess I better go do something useful this morning.

Max

i have been going to the fenton cruise/car show since they were at the baskin-robbins across the street. a guy i work with wanted to go to columbia for that swap meet, but we were both on duty. i just built a house in a new neighborhood at romaine creek and saline rds., but it only has a 2-car garage, so i am currently trying to find covered storage near me that i can afford (know of any?). i don't want to park it in my garage at home because i've gotten spoiled parking my daily driver there. to answer your question, i am planning on bringing it back home this year, but i've got to ease my wife into the idea. btw, do you remember the frozen custard place on hwy. 30 about 4 miles west of hwy. 141 and about 1/4 mile east of the k-mart on hwy. 30. it was on the south side of hwy. 30 on the outer road jsut a couple of blocks west of high ridge fire house 2? if you do that was my parents place. i worked there for 8 years. it is a used car lot now. all my camaro really needs to be roadworthy is new tires(the eagle gts are a little dry rotted and flat spotted) and all the fluids changed. the paint is okay despite a few dings and chips and the interior isn't too bad but i do need to replace that 8-track player. i'll try and have my dad take some digital pictures of it. in the meantime, when i unpack, i'll try and scan that old picture i have and post it. see ya.

Yep. I know exactly where you are talking about. I use to live in Cedar Hill for about 6 years, then over off Hawkins/Sugar Creek which is just north of that old custard place.

I didn't make the trip to Columbia either. With the weather that was on the way I didn't want to do all the driving.

I went to HS with several people that lived off of Rock Creek road and even Romaine too.

Can't think of amy storage places around there. Seems like there was one further out on 30 but haven't been out that way since 96. I leave the car in the garage and the truck outside. had to clear off the snow this morning. Well, I better get back to work.

Hey Max, St. Charles counts, right?
I just joined the board this week, after picking up an '81 over the weekend. Don't
know about your neighborhood, but where I
am, all the Camaros are 1st or 4th gen.

This is my second 2nd-gen Camaro. My first
one was a '72 that I bought when I was in
high school. That was a long time ago...

Yep, glad to see St Charles too. Anywhere around here. I see some 2 gens at shows here and there including a blown black 73 at the Fenton cruise but not much else around here. At least they may not know about this board but I look at changing that this year. I will be sporting my fresh NastyZ28.com shirt as well as handing out the cards I printed from the site.

Besides that I need someone to come over and help lift the front clip off so I can swap out my doors. The wife just can't lift that much.... something about her back or something .... excuses, excuses....

Scott,

Do you know where they are planning on having the cruise this year? I know it is being moved from the Big-Lots lot but don't know where to. At worst case I will just follow the cars when I get close.

No not yet camfan. Didnt know it was around. Get me some information here or in e-mail and I will check it out.

As far as the Fenton cruise I just seen in the post today that it will be in the old Walmart lot this year but is limited to cars 78 and older.... so doesnt include all of the second gen years.... but will see yuo all there anyway.

i'm glad to hear that the cruise is still in fenton this year. it's sad to say, but once the schnucks on the other side of hwy 141 closes, there will be a lot more room over there for ALL cars! i looked up the gateway camaro club on the net and dues are only $20/year! and that includes up to, i think, three or four family members. the last fenton cruise i went to i saw a blown red 73 Z28 with an IAFF maltese cross on the back window. i don't remember if it was tubbed or not, but i don't think so (i would've remembered if it was).
