Saw this a few days ago....love it! Apparently there is a lot of controversy over it. Eh screw the naysayers.

I love the part about the "closed for August". I work for a European company and they do this every year...while we work. It drives me crazy to get no answers for a month!

That's funny. We left the keys in the car on the moon, because we are the only one's that would go back up there.

Every time I see him, Neal McDonough, all I can think about is his role last season in "Justified" as the bad guy Quarles and Duffy saying he had a big baby head...

That guy creeps me out. He's always playing some bad guy.

BTW I think it was Cadillac, I liked their "blow your doors off" commercial.

I like the BBC version of Top Gear. I've got all the seasons out on DVD. Season 20, the latest that ran last year has one "Big star in a reasonably priced car" that played Sherlock Holmes and was in a recent Star Trek movie. When he was talking, they mentioned that the Americans can't seem to cast an American in the role of a baddie. Jaguar has been saying the same thing in their ads. I'm pretty sure that's where the idea came from.

My thought was, maybe the British just seem evil and it's more a matter of type casting. On the other hand, the US version is okay but the British version is more of the "naughty boy" type programing.

Why is that commercial controversial?

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with it either.

Never been much for hubris. It leaves you hanging out there to be proven wrong.

Hubris is a good word.

Blah blah blah a front end and a dashboard. What are you selling, be a dick? BMW has that covered.

Cool looking car though. I wish it would have had some driving/racing or something unique to say about the car. I am waiting for the "V" pounding the Nurburgring (Sp?). That would be a commercial.

Why is that commercial controversial?
People have been calling it extreme, arrogant, smug, and insulting. Dreaming big, working hard, making it on your own....coming from a company that had to be bailed out from the government because it couldn't make it on its own. Europeans are seeing it as us calling them lazy. It's been making the rounds on news talk shows.
