I have a few pairs but can'y figure out whats original and what aftermarket/ replacements

pics are great. I guess the difference on the drivers side must be that goofy bend on the replacement ones.

The only place you can find them is in a Reproduction that I know of. Rick's First Generation has them and there number is 800-359-7717 Part number is AIR-4. The tubes were the same on the Z28 from 69-71.

thank's Bob, but I have 3 sets and 1 has to be an original but not sure which one it is as all 3 are different in 1 way or another.

No, I haven't touched them. That's the way they were when I got the car. That doesn't mean they weren't done in the past.I know the whole history of the car, so I think they are the original's. When I re-finished the exhaust manifold's(they were pretty rusted up), I masked the tubes off. I didn't try to remove them, because I was afraid of breaking them, and like Bob said, I think you can only get the repro's.

A friend of mine with a '70RS Z28 has a set of repro's. They look pretty close to mine, but on the pass side tube, the piece sticking up that the hose attaches to, is turned up at more of an angle. It's TOO CLOSE to the valve cover.

Having said all that, I really can't swear that mine are the orig's, but I think so.

From a few things I've read the smog tubes were plated in BLACK Zinc.........Chuck Sharin/Seattle

Here's couple of shot of the smog tube. My 70 Z28 has 9,600 original miles on it. Now I can not swear on the Bible that everything is original on this car since I am not the original owner. This car was built 5D and it doesn't look like it came with the black plated zinc on the smog tubes.

Thankyou to all. the ones on my car now look to be originals and no they were not plated black either. They were gold cad, so I had them replated that way.

Gold Cad / Zinc is the way the GM Replacements came. They never came that way on a Camaro 69-74+
