Does anyone have a 1970 with rally wheels that they know to be original to the car and if so, what was the build date of the car? The reason I'm asking is that when I originally ordered my car(2/26/70), I ordered it with rally wheels. After 6 weeks or so, I received a call from the dealer that the factory was having a supplier problem and that I needed to make another choice which was how I wound up with the god-awful wheel covers.
I have always wondered if that was a valid story from the dealer.

My 70 came with rally wheels originally from what the build sheet says. Build date was 5C (3rd week of May) in Van Nuys. I had never heard of a supplier problem like that, hmmmm interesting.

My build date was 3rd week of April and the car was a Norwood built one, if that makes any difference at all.

Made me go out and double check my cowl plate http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif Not sure if being built in 2 different plants made a difference or not. Maybe one of the knowledgable administrators have any insight on this?

Unfortunately(or not), I got rid of them some years when I got some Nova rally wheels from the junk yard. I only have the spare left of the original wheels.
