Msd makes an adjustable timing control kit that allows you to adjust timing up to 15 degrees from inside the car. Its a little expensive around 100 bucks and needs to be run with an MSD ignition box. A friend of mine is currently using this set up on his car with nitrous and it makes it real easy to tune the car with or without the juice.

I use the Mallory box which has it built in and as long as the bottle is on I can hit it anytime without worrying about the timing.

I used to run a 150 shot of the happy gas and never would retard the timing. Didn't seem to hurt it. Until recently, I wanted to be more safe, so I bought a MSD Digital 6 box. It has a retard control built in. You can set it to retard your timing up to 9.9 degrees when you hit the button. I also had a MSD retard box (manual) and it also worked. Its not a bad thing that it needs to be run with a MSD box, cause if your running juice, you need a GOOD ignition system anyways. Good luck.

Depending on your system and its setup along with the octane of gas you use, you can have from zero to 6 degrees of timing needed. With a good heart shaped combustion chamber and a good atomization of n20 and fuel you can run little to no retard. I personally run a couple different NX setups with no retard at 150hp setting. I do run cold plugs and good gas. the safest way is to dyno tune your nitrous system retarded and slowly putting the timing back in to see how it affects it. Then you will know how your motor likes it.

I ran 150 NX shot in my 98 Z28 where you cant adjust the timing. You do need to look into running colder plugs and STAY AWAY FROM PLATINUM PLUGS!! They meltdown qwickly!!

If your going to run nitrous make sure you run good fuel! I would suggest 100 at minimum. I ran 110 in my 98. It smells hella good http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif

Now my 70 I have to run 118 all the time and need to drop 9-12 degrees of timing when I hit the button. The MSD 7AL3 box is perfect for this.
