Well on the sixth attempt, the track didn't rain out...woohoo!

The lowly 305 in my car, with one wheel peel managed a best time of 10.1 at the 1/8th track. I shifted it at 6K and burned past the 60 footmark with my one wheel peel. It went through the traps at 72 mph.

I'm fairly impressed, considering I paid $1500 for this car.

However, it is a t top car, and yes I want to drag race it. See I'm 6'6, and after I cage it, I need to be able to pop the t top up to get in and out.

So I went and bought an 81 Maro rolling with no engine and tranny, but has ladder bars, sub frame connectors, 15x3.5 welds with kumho's in front, 15x8 with street et's in the rear, posi rear end with richmond 410's, welded pins and c clip removed, hurst quarterstick and various other race components. Got it for a song and a dance...

So it's time to transfer some parts, and see if I can't drop my times before I put in the 383 and spray...

So I guess this is an intro to me, and the 79 Camaro z28 I race here in Houston...

Welcome, Jeff. I'm right down the road in Austin. Do you already have a 383 or are you building one? I have some Dart heads for sale that came off my motor. They would work really well for you.

Well I've already secured three 350 blocks, forged crank, good for 800 hp, 8000 rpm, forged rods...and various parts to assist, still short heads, pistons, cam.etc..etc..you know the deal...

As for your purchasing those parts...well I know her...and fortunatly for me I caught her before she decided to part it out...she was on the verge that night..*GRIN*...

Sorry bubba....

I might take you up on those dart heads...can you send me an email with the specifics and price?

Welcome fellow Texan. I am in Austin as well. I have a '70 with a Speedomotive 383 rotating assembly. Edel perfomer heads and intake. Just got some 15x10 welds in rear 15x8 up front.BFG's all around. 'Bout to put in a 3.73:1 posi to replace stock rrend. I was up at litte river a while back but kept spinning out with my 14x8's. Best time was 15.2....I know that sucks. I anticipate better, once I get the rrend.
