Hey guys. I am picking up the car tommorrow after the 4th 700R4 broke, and it will have a th-350 with a full reverse manual valvebody & 2600 stall converter.

Combo is as follows..

383 11.5:1, Sportsman II's, Comp XE284, RPM intake, 770 S/A Carb, 4:10 gear.

Hoping for a high 12 sec timelip.

Any tips/tricks at the track are appreciated.

I have a jetting kit for the carb & i just have to pick up some 110 to mix with the pump gas.

Also, is it worth getting rid of the stock clutchless fan I have? (5 blade attached with a spacer to the waterpump) Do they really eat a lot of power?

Sounds like you should be able to get to the 12's.

You said a 5 blade fan - Im assuming its a flex fan - which is OK.
But I would never run a solid fan without a clutch.

As far as the clutch goes (if your using a solid fan) you could get a centrifical (spelled right?) clutch for about $20. After a certain RPM it freewheels. It pays no attention to heat though.

Either way - depending on weather - sounds like high 12's are in the bag. Maybe a low 13.

Good luck! Maybe you will run an even better time than you anticipate.I ran a full second faster than I thought I would.

Hey thx for the support guys. I just picked up the car, this TH-350 is incredible. I love it, excpecially being able to shift at WOT now (GOD DAMN 700's)

The converter is a tad small, so i am gonna try it out & yank it prob in another 2 weeks. Good stuggestion on a decently priced 3000 - 3200 stall? Looking at the HUGHES PERFORMANCE PRO-Street 30 series converters. It retails for $429 CAN. Anyone have any info on their stall speeds/quality for the $.

As far as the fan goes, its clutchless. As in its bolted direct to the waterpump with a spacer. I am sure it robs HP but i wonder if taking it off will make a diff?
